MECHANICAL CONSTRUCTION STEEL RESUME
1010 Carbon steel without alloy elements, for general purposes, used for mechanical parts, joint parts, welded
parts, tubes and other applications.
1020 Carbon steel, for general use, without alloy elements used in mechanical parts, axles, welded parts,
conformed or cementadas, wires in general, ...
1045 Steel with medium carbon level , for general used in applications that demand mechanic resistance greater than the 1020 or for surface têmpera superficial (oil or water), generally used for mechanical parts.
9SMn28 Easy to be tooled, offering good surface finishing. However, welding is not as easy except if done by low hydrogen content electrodes e.g. : E6015(AWS). Generally used in the nuts, bolts, conections manufacturing and other products that may need high manufacturing property, but must not be used for vital parts of machines or equipments that may be exposed to severe efforts or impacts.
12L14 Identical characteristics from the 1212 except high manufactiring property, when it shows capacity greater than 60 % compared to the 9SMn28.
Teluraloy Identical to the 9SMN28 characteristics except by the tooling, where it presents superior capacity to 100% regarding the 9SMN28. It presents some improvements when developing works that demand compression, for example, screws or unfinished parts regarding the 9SMN28 and 12l14.
8620 Steel Chrome-Nikel-molibdênio. Used for cementação in gearing manufacturing, axles, rack railway, terminals, CRUZETAS, etc. (kernel's resistance capacity : between 70 and 100 kgf/mm2).
8640 Steel Chrome-Nikel-molibdênio de medium hardness, used for axles, pinions, piston rods, virabrequins, axle-pins and medium denseness parts.
4320 Steel Chrome-Nikel-molibdênio for cementação that combines high hardness and good adherence, used for tonsures, pinion, direction terminals, ball bearing caps, etc (kernel's resistance limit : between 80 - 120 Kgf/mm2).
4340 Steel Chrome-Nikel-molibdênio of high hard, used for big sector parts such as axles, gearing, aeronautic components, trucks and tractor parts, ...
5140 Chrome - Manganese Steel for benefaction, consisted of medium hardness, used in bolts, half-axles, pins, ...
5160 Chrome-Manganese Steel good adherence and medium hardness, generally used in the manufacturing of half-elliptical springs for automobiles.
6150 Chrome-vanádio for benefaction which shows excelent adherence and medium hardness, used for springs, torsion bars, tools, operational machines tweezers, ...
9260 High Silicon Level Steel and high resistance used for springs designed for heavy work such as tractors and trucks.
52100 Steel that reaches high hardness and it's used in tools such as ESTAMPOS, drills and ALARGADORES, ...
